Are you a parent or guardian who needs assistance securing meals for your family? Check out the following food sources for kids aged K-12 in LA County. If you haven’t already, see if you qualify for SNAP benefits and enroll here in less than 10 minutes.


LAUSD and Red Cross Free Meals for All Students

Given the closure of LAUSD schools, there will be 60 Grab and Go Food Centers open weekdays throughout the City, and each child will be able to take home two nutritious meals.  (posted 3/18/2020)

The USDA National Hunger Hotline

This is a helpful resource for people seeking food assistance. The hotline, operated by Hunger Free America, can be reached Monday through Friday between 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. PST at:

  • 1-866-3-HUNGRY (1-866-348-6479) or
  • 1-877-8-HAMBRE (1-877-842-6273) (for Spanish).

U.S. Department of Agriculture – Food & Nutrition Service – Find Meals for Kids

To slow the spread of COVID-19, many schools have closed unexpectedly. To ensure that children who rely on free or reduced-price meals at school are able to get the nutrition they need, USDA is working with states to continue providing meals to students. Families can use this tool to find directions to nearby sites as well as hours of operation and contact information. (posted 4/7/2020)
